The Cook Islands Investment Corporation (CIIC) successfully hosted its Asset Management Forum 2025 on Monday, 20 October. The full-day event brought together representatives from across government ministries and state-owned enterprises to share updates, tools, and experiences under the Government’s Asset Management Development Programme (AMDP).
The forum, opened by CIIC Chief Executive Officer Allan Jensen, included presentations from Infrastructure Cook Islands (ICI), Pacific Technical Assistance (PacificTA), the Emergency Management Cook Islands (EMCI), Climate Change Cook Islands (CCCI), Beca Consultants NZ and CIIC’s own asset management team. The agenda focused on strengthening and collaborating on asset data capture and registry systems, advancing digital tools such as AssetFinda, Univerus, and Power BI, and integrating climate resilience and risk assessment into future planning.
Allan Jensen said the forum reflected CIIC’s continued commitment to improving transparency, accountability, and long-term sustainability across government’s infrastructure and asset base.
“This forum builds on the strong foundation laid through the AMDP and reflects how far we’ve come in developing modern, data-driven asset management systems,” said Mr Jensen. “The collaboration across agencies shows a collective determination to manage public assets more effectively for the benefit of our people and our nation.”
Sessions throughout the day highlighted progress made since the AMDP’s establishment in 2019, including asset record digitisation, climate vulnerability risk assessments, advanced data projects such as LiDar, asset valuation, and insurance planning, while interactive discussions explored next steps for policy alignment and improved partnerships across the public sector.
In closing, it was agreed that the next phase of the AMDP will focus on greater collaboration and standardisation across the public sector, continued digitisation, stronger data governance, and integration of climate change risk frameworks into asset management planning.
