Halatoa Fua Appointed to the Board of Cook Islands Investment Corporation

Minister for Cook Islands Investment Corporation (CIIC), Hon. Albert Nicholas, is pleased to announce the appointment of Halatoa Fua to its Board of Directors.

The Minister welcomed Mr. Fua’s appointment, highlighting his experience in both the public and commercial sectors.

“We look forward to Halatoa’s contributions to the CIIC Board, drawing from his vast experience in governance, strategic planning, environmental and economic development. His leadership across multiple sectors, particularly in tourism, infrastructure, and environmental sustainability, will be invaluable as CIIC continues to strengthen its role in managing public assets and investments for the benefit of all Cook Islanders,” said Minister Nicholas.

Mr. Fua is currently the Director of the National Environment Service, where he leads initiatives focused on environmental policy, conservation, and sustainable development. He has also held key leadership roles in the Cook Islands, including as the Chief Executive Officer of the Cook Islands Tourism Corporation. His expertise in policy development, financial management, mainstreaming environmental leadership, and stakeholder engagement aligns with CIIC’s mission to ensure effective stewardship of the country’s assets.

The CIIC Board plays a pivotal role in overseeing government-owned enterprises and infrastructure projects, ensuring they operate efficiently and sustainably. Mr. Fua’s appointment reflects CIIC’s commitment to strong governance and strategic oversight in advancing national development.
