Senior Finance Officer

The Cook Islands Investment Corporation (CIIC) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our Finance Team.

About the Role

The Senior Finance Officer plays a key role in supporting the financial management and reporting functions of the CIIC Group. Working closely with the Finance Manager, this position is responsible for overseeing accounts receivable, revenue management, reconciliations, administrative funds, compliance activities, and internal financial controls.

The role requires strong accounting expertise, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to maintain high standards of accuracy, accountability, and customer service across a diverse portfolio of Crown assets and entities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage accounts receivable and customer debtors
  • Oversee revenue recording, receipting, banking and reconciliation processes
  • Prepare and review reconciliations of bank accounts, balance sheet accounts and financial records
  • Support the management and reporting of administrative funds and Crown-funded programmes
  • Conduct internal compliance reviews and financial spot checks
  • Assist with audit preparation and financial reporting requirements
  • Support the continuous improvement of financial systems, controls, and processes
  • Build positive working relationships with stakeholders and provide excellent customer service

About You

  • Able to work independently and exercise sound judgement
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrates integrity, professionalism and accountability
  • Committed to delivering high-quality financial services and continuous improvement

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business, or a related discipline
  • Experience working in a finance, accounting, or financial reporting environment
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls and reconciliations
  • Experience preparing financial reports, reconciliations and supporting audit processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
  • Experience with MYOB, Unit4 FMIS, or similar financial management systems is an advantage
  • Knowledge of Cook Islands Government financial processes and reporting requirements would be beneficial
