The Cook Islands Investment Corporation (CIIC) is looking for an Experienced Engineer who is keen to contribute to the development of new Government buildings and facilities.

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the planning, design, and implementation of key building and infrastructure projects, while also contributing to asset management through data collection and digitisation. You will play a crucial role in developing technical/engineering design drawings and specifications, and assist with managing quality, risks, and issues that arise during project implementation. This is a hands-on role where you will also mentor junior staff, applying your technical expertise and leadership skills to ensure the delivery of high-quality outcomes in complex and challenging environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead engineering design, technical documentation, and project cost estimates.
  • Provide engineering advice, review specifications, and ensure compliance with industry standards and government policies.
  • Oversee data collection and digitisation for asset management, including inspections, condition assessments, and drone/aerial imagery.
  • Manage project works, including quality, risks, and on-site inspections.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualifications: Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Civil/Structural) (essential); CPEng or equivalent learning (desirable).
  • Experience: At least 10 years’ experience in engineering designs or project works supervision – structural or civil projects (essential); 5 years’ design and/or project management experience in the Cook Islands or other Pacific Island country and 5 years’ experience working on high profile Government projects with significant public attention and/or involving multiple stakeholders (desirable)
