Finance Officer

The Cook Islands Investment Corporation (CIIC) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our Finance Team.

About the Role

The Finance Officer plays a key role in supporting the financial operations of the CIIC Group. This position is responsible for the efficient monitoring, recording, reconciliation, and reporting of financial information, ensuring that revenue, receivables, and financial transactions are accurately accounted for and managed.

The role requires strong accounting knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of financial integrity and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage accounts receivable and customer payments
  • Generate and process invoices, receipts, and banking transactions
  • Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts, customer accounts, and general ledger balances
  • Assist with the management and reporting of trading revenue across the CIIC Group
  • Support the administration and reconciliation of Crown and administrative funds
  • Prepare financial documentation and audit working papers
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and reporting requirements
  • Provide high-quality customer service and support to internal and external stakeholders

About You

  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and accountability in handling financial information

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business, or a related discipline (essential)
  • Experience in finance, accounting, accounts receivable, or financial administration
  • Knowledge of accounting systems and financial reporting processes
  • Experience with reconciliations, revenue management, and financial controls
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
  • Knowledge of MYOB and/or government financial management systems is an advantage
